“The inauguration of Kongskilde’s new factory here in Kutno is a milestone. The plans had been on the drawing board for some time, and this major construction project was completed in less than 12 months, so it gives me great pleasure to unveil the impressive result,” says Asbjørn Børsting, chairman of Kongskilde Industries, to the Board, staff and agricultural reporters from all over Europe invited to the opening.
The new extension is already in use and will serve as the central element in the factory’s assembly unit. Storage facilities have also been given a much-needed upgrade as they are now placed between the production and assembly units, thus comprising all functions in one building.
“The modernisation of the factory will definitely also streamline our production, as we plan to optimise and modernise with new production equipment in the course of the coming two to three years. In this connection, it’s a pleasure to announce that Kongskilde Polska has been granted 25 million Zloty (6,1 million EUR) for new production equipment under a 50:50 scheme from the EU’s structural funds. The investment of 50 million Zloty ( 12,2 million EUR) will transform Kongskilde Polska into one of the most modern agricultural machinery factories in Europe,” says Asbjørn Børsting.
The expansion of the factory in Poland is a result of Kongskilde’s positive sales and earning trends in the last five years. In addition to improved production flow and efficiency gains, the investment also equips the dynamic development department with better facilities for producing prototypes, which, will allow the group to maintain its strategy of launching a new implement in each product area every year.
Kongskilde Industries is a subsidiary of the DLG Group, which had a turnover of EUR 5.0 billion in 2008.
