After having won the Scottish Reversible Ploughing Champion title using his 2 furrow Överum Plough, Andy Greenhill represented Scotland at the World Championships in New Zealand in April 2010.
- The plough was working well in practice although the ground was very dry and hard, says Andy. According to Andy the weather was very good although the farmers were complaining as they had not had rain for several weeks.

- On the first day of the competition the stubble conditions were good but very dry. During the grassland ploughing on the second day conditions were very hot and so extremely dry that it wore the cutting edge of the shares and points halfway across the plot. It made it very difficult to keep the plough straight as it just jumped about in the hard conditions, Andy continues.
Andy ended up as number 19 in the reversible ploughing competition. Next year's World Ploughing Competition will take place in Sweden, where one of the main sponsors will be Kongskilde's plough factory, Överums Bruk AB.
- It was a wonderfull experience which was well worth the journey. I have learned a great deal and will be trying hard to qualify for Sweden next year! |
